Here in Coastal Carolina fall for me means a combination of summer and fall. November it starts getting cold. It can get cold as 10 degree which is hard to believe because it was 90 a few days ago. For my fall tour, I have pumpkins of white and orange scattered around the house. I also have indigenous plant cutting that is used for my fall foliage. I added a variety of the cuttings in three vases which gives a very botanical feel.
Baby breath is a lovely flower which can be used all year round. Baby breath can last a long time and it can be dried to look very autumny. Adding some baby breath in vases around the house gives that snowy feel of winter coming.
Growing up in upstate New York my falls were amazing filled with lots of colors and we baked a ton. I grew up on a large apple farm and baking was daily. One of my favorite childhood recipes was my mom’s Apple & Pumpkin cake. We just walk out our back yard and pick the apples of the tree. Check out the apple cake recipe here.
