Club Objective
The general nature and object of this non-profit corporation shall be:
(a) to organize themselves into non-profit association for the purpose of engaging in
activities which are charitable, educational and scientific within the meaning of Section
501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1952;
(b) To promote the beautification and improvement of Punta Gorda and the surrounding
areas;
(c) To participate actively in the conservation of natural resources;
(d) To encourage the growing of plants in public and private places;
(e) To further the education of members and the public in the fields of gardening, horticulture,
botany landscape design, conservation of natural resources, civic beautification, and
nature studies;
(f) To affiliate with and to participate in the work and projects of Florida Federation of
Garden Clubs, Incorporated; to cooperate with the garden clubs in the State of Florida
which are also affiliated with Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Incorporated,
and to participate in the activities of any national or international organization with which
said Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Incorporated, shall be affiliated;
(g) To do and perform all other acts necessary to carry out the purposes of this as
a Corporation not for profit in accordance with the law in such cases made and
provided;
(h) Membership in the Punta Gorda Garden Club is open to all regardless of gender, age, race, ethnicity or religious affiliation.

If you are interested in participating in the work that we do in Punta Gorda, Florida, we would be delighted to have you come to one of our meetings where you can join our members and learn about what we do. Details about our meeting dates, exceptional programs, and special events can be found on this site. In particular, don’t miss our biggest fundraiser, the Holly Days Home Tour in early December each year. This event supports several scholarships for local students in addition to donations to various projects in the community.
Our club was founded in 1949 and federated in 1950. We are members of National Garden Clubs, Inc,.Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. Deep South Garden Clubs, Inc. and District IX,
