Just more than a month after launching a new brand and website, a Pleasant Prairie-based home improvement retail website is calling it quits.
eImprovement, LLC notified the state that it would permanently close all operations, including its 22,000-square-foot headquarters in Pleasant Prairie. The company, which started with the website eFaucets.com in 2003, launched hausera.com at the end of February.
eImprovement, LLC will permanently close all of its operations by May 23. The company plans to begin eliminating 60 positions on April 30, according to a letter sent to the state. Employees will be provided wages and benefits for 60 days, according to the letter dated March 30.
The websites are now stripped down to landing pages that say “we’re sorry but at this time we are no longer accepting new orders.”
The letter to the state did not say if economic uncertainty regarding the coronavirus crisis affected the decision to close. The company did not respond to requests for an interview.
At peak, eFaucets annual revenue was around $80 million, the company said in February. It planned to grow that annual number by three times with Hausera. At the time of Hausera’s launch, the company said it planned to hire another 20 employees to have around 100 by the end of the year. The websites were averaging around 250,000 visitors a month.
