Zion began its community garden12 years ago. The garden has grown fast. Starting with 25 garden plots in 2008, the garden has grown to 82 plots in 2019.
Located at the base of a hill and only a few hundred yards from Holes Creek, the garden site is blessed with good soil and plentiful moisture. In most seasons, watering at planting time is almost all that is required! But when needed, we have a well at the garden with a windmill/water tank system to give easy water access to all our gardeners
The Zion Community Garden is located on the beautiful grounds of Zion Lutheran Church – at the corner of Alex-Bell and Munger Road – near the Dayton Mall. The address is 5550 Munger Rd. Come garden with us, or maybe come see the wonderful gardens people are growing. You might even enjoy our Meditation Trail located in the woods on our property.
