Twins Kitchen, founded by twin brothers Caleb and Joshua Ng, is a Hong Kong-based consultancy and creative firm focusing on the food and beverage industry.

As F&B consultants, they provide professional advice, support, and guidance to clients, as well as their forthcoming and existing restaurants. With their in-house graphics and interior design team, they also work in visual design, interior design, and brand identity building. 

In Hong Kong, the twins currently own Common Ground, a slow-paced neighbourhood café and lifestyle store, and PRESET, a pioneering retail event space with a coffee bar called INTERVAL in the heart of Central. They also own Atlas Kitchen, an Asian fusion restaurant, cafe & wine bar in Guangzhou and a Chinese dumpling bar called GAO in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Lack of knowledge and comfort level in the kitchen are primarily why Samantha Barnes founded Los Angeles-based Raddish, a monthly step-by-step cooking kit subscription service that provides recipe cards, grocery lists, kitchen tools and culinary education.

“Parents have had the excuse for years that there has been no time to teach their children how to cook,” said Barnes. “Now they have time. And kids experience a tremendous amount of pride and confidence when they plan, prepare and present food.”

She pointed out five benefits to getting kids in the kitchen:

1. “It’s a way for everyone to excel. They may struggle with fractions, but they read a recipe and use fractions in measuring and suddenly fractions make sense.”
2. “On a practical level, kids who cook eat. When we let kids make a salad dressing and wash salad greens, suddenly they are excited to eat it.”
3. “Skills last forever.”

We’ve surveyed thousands of kitchen buyers and tested kitchens in our lab to bring you ratings for big-name fitted kitchen brands – find out which have emerged triumphant as Best Buys.

A new kitchen is a big investmentso it makes sense to choose a trusted brand and a kitchen that was rated highly in our lab tests.

To find the best and worst fitted kitchen companies, and the kitchen cabinets worthy of a Best Buy accolade, we’ve surveyed thousands of kitchen owners and assessed kitchen units from almost all the big-name brands in our lab, including Ikea, John Lewis and Wickes. 

To become a Best Buy, a kitchen had to score more than 70% overall. Our overall scores incorporate both lab-test results and customer feedback.

The top-scoring brand achieved 79% overall, while the lowest score was 57%.  Only brands achieving more than 70% overall were awarded Best Buys.

We care about our patrons, our staff, and our community. We took the suggested time off and closed, because we felt it was our responsibility to help flatten the curve, and keep all that we could, safe.

Meanwhile, we’ve been researching, growing, and adapting. And now, we are very happy to announce that we will be re-opening on Wednesday, April 22nd for take-out and delivery.
